LI-7500A 75H-2150 2025-06-13 Lab none Maintenance Lab none This 7500 had a lot of corrosion on the bottom base plate. Much of the anodized layer was flaking off. One of the plugs had a broken screw. I removed the base plate and removed the connector from the plate. I used a wire brush on the drill and a file to clean off the corrosion. Then I painted it with spray paint. It's ugly as heck but might last a bit better. I replaces the plugs with some plugs from and old 7500 base plate. I replaced the internal chemicals. They were a little hard but not as bad as they can be.

LI-7700 TG1-0514 2025-05-30 Lab none Repair Lab none Long story - didn't all happened on the 30th. This unit was calibrated on 4/25 and the pressure was a little funky. I tried to put it on the Tonzi Tower on 4/29 but the pressure was reading bad. I brought it back in to test. I took it apart in the lab to check for loose wires but discovered it had a bunch of water in it. Nothing looked corroded though. I let it dry out over the weekend then put it back together to test. The pressure was worse and then it also lost its line lock. I asked Licor how much time/money it would take for them to service it: 6-8weeks and 00! I asked if I could replace the pressure sensor: yes - same one as 7550 boxes: 5. I took it apart again and found the pressure sensor had burned up. I removed the dead pressure sensor and the 7700 worked. I swapped in a 7550 pressure sensor and it was still good. I ordered a new pressure sensor.

I got a new pressure sensor sn PX-5118 and eventually the calibration coefficients for the new sensor: P zero=58.80, span=15.41. On 6/03 I updated the 7700 pressure coefficients and calibrated it. To set the 7700 pressure coefficients choose "About" from the question mark menu and the "factory setup". "Proceed" from warning box then "Watch" the 7700. Finaly use the "Factory..." button to see and change the settings. "Commit" when done.

Additionally I did a small inter-comparison of pressures from the new 7700 sensor, a brand new Campbell BaroVue10 sn 4337/4348 and a new 7550 box sn AIU-2562. With the use of the coefficients for the new sensor the 7700 pressure was right in line with the BaroVue sensor.

LI-7500RS 75H-2932 2025-05-30 Lab none Maintenance Lab none I inspected the 7500RS head. Lots of corrosion from salt at Eden Landing. The screw to hold/extract the desiccant plugs is broken off. One of these plugs was corroded and was damaged in removing it. The inside of this plug whole is also crumbling. I replaced the plug with one from an old 7500 base plate but I'm not sure the seal is great. CS450 20010770 2025-04-15 Lab none Tested Lab none I tested this sensor in the lab. Its power draw was hanging up a CR1000 or maybe the Lithium power pack. I tested it on the lab power supply and it was pulling 1.4A when it should be more like 80uA. The cable is pretty beat up with lots of tape patches, cracking and one abraded spot with the internal conductors visible. Not sure if it is worth cutting off the worst parts of the cable and trying it again.
