Summary: Deleted a couple days of GPS data, well meter dead battery, Reinstalled soil water potential C but data still bad - program problem? Midday leaf water potential.

Kuno and I arrived at about 11:15 PDT. It was clear sunny and warm. The grasslands on the way out were mostly yellow. Near the tower it is still mostly green but will be going fast with warm weather forecasted. The pond has gone down a bit. The trees are dark green.

Kuno did his rounds of stem and soil chambers and sighed a lot at all the small fluxes.

I started with collecting the GPS data. Units 1 and 3 connected to the wifi immediately. I had to cycle power on unit 4 to get it connected. I also moved the unit 4's box to the south side of the tripod to be less hidden behind a bunch of metal. I mistakenly deleted a couple days of data. Someone else visit Tonzi on 5/5 and I thought that was the last time GPS data was downloaded so I deleted all the April data and downloaded data from 5/4 to present. But the last download was 4/28, so 4/29 and 4/30 are gone but 5/1-5/3 should still be on the units in the field. Also DownThemAll doesn't seem to work - the download icons are not links but some kind of javascript.

I collected the tower top data. The reservoir was full. There were some spider webs on the eddy sensors.
The 7500 read: 424.6ppm CO2, 429.6mmol/m3 H2O, 23.6C, 98.9kPa, 101.2SS - 103.1 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 2.02ppm CH4, 57.7RSSI - 82.1 after cleaning

I collected the Floor data: well, tree temps, flux. The wash reservoir was full. I checked inside the 7700's fuse holder - no moisture. Some spider webs and the eddy sensors here too.
The 7500 read: 427.6ppm CO2, 382.2mmol/m3 H2O, 26.6C, 99.1kPa, 93.9SS - 99.7 after cleaning
The 7700 read: 2.00ppm CH4, 57.5RSSI - 80.6 after cleaning

The manual well level device was left on and I think its battery was dying. I got a number from the Floor well but couldn't make it work later. I serviced the z-cams, did the manual soil moisture and read the dendrometers. I had to reset the dendrometer on tree 72 - the fixed end of the band came loose.

I collected the FD data. I reinstalled the soil water potential sn G20007096 on the OSU SP1 logger. I pulled it out of the ground three times by accidentally yanking on its cable. When I got it connected it was still reading NaN in the data logger program. But when I read it directly with the terminal it had reasonable numbers. The whole system needs an overhaul so I left it as is for now. I also forgot to reconnect the radio to the CSIO port so no connection to the tower computer for now.

I did midday leaf water potential.

We left at about 15:10 PDT
