Bouldin Corn: 2025-05-08 11:55:00 (DOY 128)
Author: Carlos Wang
Others: Dennis
Summary: LI7500 swap for calibration; bad shadow band motor; regular data download and maintenance
Dennis and I arrived at Bouldin Corn at ~11:55am. It was sunny and warm. The field still looked bare, but, I THINK, the corn had already been planted. At the tower, I collected the MET, flux, and camera data. The LI77 box was 3/4 full. Dennis cleaned the MET and flux sensors. 7500 read: 397ppm CO2, 761mmol/m3 H2O, 24.5 C, 101.9kPa, 92.3SS --102 new sensor (sn0042) 7700 read: 1.97ppm CH4, 38RSSI – 80 after cleaning Dennis swapped LI7500s for calibration: sn 75H-2182 came off and sn 0042 went on. I reconfigured the coefficients and reset the flux box. Everything looks good, logging with reasonable readings. We noticed the shadow band was not moving, and I adjusted the box to crank up the motor speed. The shadow band would move for a bit and then get stuck. The motor may need to be replaced. The water level was 5.5cm below the ground. (Top of well pipe to water level = 157cm, (Previous visit measured on 03/25) top of well pipe to ground = 151.5cm) We left the field at ~12:30pm and went to Bouldin alfalfa. |
