Summary: LI7500 swap for calibration; shadow band motor might be bad; regular data download and site maintanence
Dennis and I arrived at Hill Slough at ~10:05am. It was sunny and breezy. At the tower, I collected the MET, flux, and camera data. The LI77 box was pretty much empty. Dennis cleaned the MET and flux sensors. 7500 read: 404ppm CO2, 212mmol/m3 H2O, 16.5 C, 102.2kPa, 75.6SS --99 new sensor (sn0976) 7700 read: 1.71ppm CH4, 1RSSI – 86 after cleaning Dennis swapped 7500s for calibration: sn 75H-2514 came off and sn 0976 went on. I reconfigured the coefficients and reset the flux box. Everything looks good, logging with reasonable readings. Dennis noticed the shadow band was not moving, and he adjusted the box to crank up the motor speed. The shadow band was still moving when we left, but the motor might be bad and needs to be double-checked. We didn't take staff gauge reading because it was low tide and the soil was exposed when we were there. Dennis took the porewater conductivity at the tower, and I took the surface water conductivity at the channel. Surface, 3220uS, 27.7C Porewater, 5.35mS, 19.7C We left the field at ~11:00am, got coffee, and went to Bouldin corn. |
