Bouldin Alfalfa: 2018-09-18 10:50:00 (DOY 261)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Daphne, Kuno
Summary: Field mowed, tower clipped, FD chamber running again, Set up cameras for inter-comparison
Bouldin Alfalfa, 2018-09-18 I arrived at 10:50 with Daphne and Kuno. It was clear sunny and warm with hazy horizons. The field has been recently mowed but I don’t think it was raked. I think probably they rake and bale all at the same time. We clipped several mowing’s worth of alfalfa from under the tower and added it to the cuttings on the field. The road was very dry and dusty. The FD chamber is working again. Leaving it unplugged for about 30min and then plugging in the terminal strip didn’t seem to work. Unplugging and plugging in the connector on the top of the chamber worked. No need to turn it off in the future. The 7500 read: 407ppm CO2, 570mmol/m3 H2O, 20.6C, 101.4kPa, 97SS - 98 after cleaning. The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 59RSSI – 98 after cleaning The wash reservoir was nearly full – topped off. We installed four cameras on the railing for an inter-comparison: two Bushnell trail cams, a Raspberry Pi cam, and an old Canon A550 which CHDK. It was all a bit jerry rigged. The Pi clock was off which is strange because it has a Real Time Clock module. It said 1969-12-31 15:43 at 2018-09-18 10:43. It also was not displaying a preview image. We will see what happens. We left at 11:50 |
