Summary: Standard data collection, radio link still not working and the marsh is flooded - no annex data until next time.
Rush Ranch 2025-06-27 Kyle and I arrive at the tower about 10:00 PDT after walking out from the parking lot. The hills are golden and the wetland is many shades of green. There are star thistles along the path that will do their best to poke you. It was clear and sunny without much breeze - hot walking in the sun. I decided to start at Rush Ranch today because I thought they closed at 5pm but the sign at the entrance say 8am to 7pm. Summer hours maybe. I collected the met, flux and camera data. Kyle cleaned the sensors and refilled the wash reservoir - it was only a little low. The 7500 read: 420.0ppm CO2, 723.4mmol/m3 H2O, 24.2C, 100.9kPa, 94.9SS - 96.5, 680mmol/m3 H2O The 7700 read: 1.99ppm CH4, 63.5RSSI - 78.5 after cleaning I scrapped the wasp nest out of the met box. I could not connect to the annex tower by the radio. When that failed I started to walk out there but there was about 10-20cm of water all the way out and my feet started to get wet. I retreated - got to get the radio working. High tide was around 3:30AM PDT and HS was a mud flat at 10:40 PDT, so I wonder if there is some ponding or at least the area is very slow to drain at Rush Ranch. I did hear a coastal flooding warning on the radio this morning. The solar panels were relatively clean We left the parking area at about 10:30 PDT. |
