Summary: Cows got inside the fence, fixed fence, restarted computer.

2012-11-15 I arrived about 9am PST. It was sunny and mild with little to no wind and high clouds moving in from the southwest. There was no wind in the Delta on the way up – the river was glassy. The ground is dry and hard but there is a little bit of dew on the grass. The cows got through the fence and seemed to have been camping out inside the fence. They disturbed the north batch of soil co2 sensors but even though they seemed to have wandered over the entire enclosure, nothing else seemed disturbed. I reset the soil CO2 sensors as best I could but they seemed loose in the dry soil. I think all these sensors need resetting this winter. I fixed the fence replacing the lower wire along the west side and the lower handle at the gate. The fence was functional arcing to the fence post. The computer would not connect to the soil CO2 system again and Loggernet would not quit. I restarted the computer and it gave me the restart to use new hardware message. I restarted it again and all seemed well. The data from the soil CO2 system looked okay with the new power relay in place. |
