Summary: Flux power out for 11 days due to blown fuse.

2012-12-11 I arrived about 9:20 with Siyan. It was clear and sunny but cool with a very light breeze from the south. It looks like they had a lot of rain out here. There are puddles on the road and the waterhole is full to overflowing. The trees have lost all their leaves or the leaves have turned brown. The grass is a green carpet. The Delta and valley were super foggy on the way up and there was snow visible in the montains. The biomass fence has been moved to the west to a fresh spot but still encompassing our moisture point probe. The main solar power was out. A 7.5A fuse was blown. I replaced it with a 30A fuse and the computer and eddy system powered up again. About 11 days of eddy data was lost – met and soil CO2 seems okay. When the computer restarted it had lost its clock – I reset it to cell phone time. Probably the computer’s internal battery needs replacing. The tipping bucket had some bird droppings in it but no standing water. I cleaned this out and cleaned the radiometers. |
