Summary: Cattails and tules continue to grow. Water level still at surface. Inlet was turned on shortly after we arrived at the site. Downloaded data. Collected water samples at inlet.

West Pond

We arrived around 11:00 PDT. It was sunny and warm. The site continues to green up with more cattail and tule growth. The water level remained at the surface, and when we first drove past the inlet no water was running. However, when Kathleen and I walked past it about 20 min later the inlet was running strong. Kathleen and I collected water samples at the inlet (3 before the inlet was turned on and 3 from the water coming out of the inlet afterwards).

Kathleen and I went on a adventure to find the outlet at WP. We walked along the northern edge of the pond and eventually found the outlet just to the west of Pier F. We didnâ€™t collect water samples this week since water levels at the outlet were so low, but hopefully weâ€™ll be collecting them in the future.

Joe and Madeline attended to the tower and downloaded data.

The DO probe was sitting in the muck. We should move it next week so that itâ€™s directly hanging off the scaffold so that it is easier to service.

7500 readings:
CO2 = 400 ppm (same after cleaning)
H2O = 522 mmol m-3 (same after cleaning)
signal strength = 81.1% (same after cleaning)
p = 101.09 kPa
t = 21.09 C

7700 readings:
CH4 = 1.88 ppm
RSSI = 66.5% (82.4% after cleaning)
Reservoir was full.

Met looked good.
