4395 | 2020-02-25 | Lab | Maintenance | Lab | We set this analyzer up after many years of sitting idle. It seemed to run okay in slow flow but the cell pressure dropped to near zero. I removed the internal 2um filter and it tested okay (easy to blow through). I ended up swapping it with another because it had been installed backwards (not that I'm sure that makes a difference) and it was easier change fittings on the other one. I blew the new filter out with air from the bench before installing. Notes indicated this analyzer had low pressure last time it was used. We swapped the pressure controller with the one from the other LGR which has a broken laser. This got the system working with 148Torr pressure and a 14us ring time. Running an AMP cal gas of 3.121ppm CH4, the analyzer agreed within +-1ppb. |
1851 | 2015-05-12 | Sherman Island | Removed | Lab none | Removed with the decommissioning of the Sherman Cow Pasture site. |
1820 | 2014-01-10 | Lab none | Installed | Sherman Island | Installed in the box at Sherman to replace sn 05-0010 that had low pressure. |
1027 | 2013-06-20 | Lab none | Maintenance | Lab none | This analyzer refused to boot in the field and was swapped out by Cove. In the lab it continued to hang in booting. After trying a few things (pressing f2, etc), pressing esc at the "System Bios Configuration" screen allowed me to choose between two versions of the OS:
Fedora Core [version #] legacy.nptlcustom Fedora Core [version #] legacy.nptl Selecting the non-custom one booted to a command prompt where I could log in as root/3456789. However the screen kept flickering out giving me about 1 second to type then going black for about 5 seconds an not taking input. The df command should that the disk was 100% used. I navigated to /home/lgr/data and deleted some files from 2009 and then I rebooted. On reboot the LGR ran normally. I then entered the service area in the setup window with the ICOService password. From the service area I deleted all files from 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. Afterwards the disk usage was 23% used. Should be good for a few more years. |
1025 | 2013-06-18 | Sherman Island | Removed | Lab none | Removed from Sherman Island by Cove. The external pump was off and the LGR refused to boot. It was replaced by sn 05-0010 |
948 | 2013-03-14 | Lab none | Installed | Sherman Island | Installed in the Sherman Island box by Cove to replace sn 05-0010. 05-0010 was removed due to low pressure in low flow mode. |
939 | 2013-03-12 | Lab none | Maintenance | Lab none | The ring time was around 11.8usec so I cleaned the mirrors before likely putting it in at Sherman later this week. After two attempts at cleaning the mirrors the ring time seems to be steady at about 16.8usec |
926 | 2013-02-12 | Lab none | Calibration | Lab none | Last calibration: 2013-01-29 Cell Pressure=143.19Torr, Cell Temperature=22.14C, Ring Time=11.907usec 2nd CH4 in air at 1400psi CH4 Span=4.982ppm CH4 = 4.960 -> 4.982 Offset: 22ppb Notes: Calibration for check of new 400ppm CO2 cal tank. After calibrating the LGR data was recorded from the new tank. An average of 146 point was 3.875ppm CH4 |
885 | 2013-01-29 | Lab none | Calibration | Lab none | Last calibration: 2012-8-29 Cell Pressure=142.76Torr, Cell Temperature=21.69C, Ring Time=11.939usec 2nd CH4 in air at 1400psi CH4 Span=4.982ppm CH4 = 4.959 -> 4.982 Offset: 23.000000000001ppb Notes: Calibrated to check new 400ppm CO2 secondary standard. I took and average of 75 points as recorded in the LGR internal files and got a concentration of 3.856ppm CH4 |
747 | 2012-08-24 | Lab none | Calibration | Lab none | Last calibration: 2012-07-12 Cell Pressure=127.70Torr, Cell Temperature=22.53C, Ring Time=11.885usec God Bottle at 300psi CH4 Span=1.8978ppm CH4 = 1.830 -> 1.897 Offset: 67.8ppb Notes: This analyzer was removed from the field yesterday for low pressure problems. Pressure seems better but fell from 142Torr on start up. The calibration was used to check a secondary cal tank. About 70 readings gave an average of 3.905ppm CH4 |
746 | 2012-08-23 | Sherman Island | Removed | Lab none | Removed from the box at Sherman by Cove. This analyzer has had low pressure in slow flow mode. It was replace by LGR FMA sn 05-0010. |
588 | 2012-05-02 | Lab none | Installed | Sherman Island | Installed in the box at sherman to replace the LI7700. Running on the diaphragm pump. |
501 | 2012-01-26 | Lab none | Calibration | Lab none | Calibrated in the lab with god bottle 1.8978ppm CH4 at 300psi. Last calibration Nov 18, 2011. Before calibration while running the cal gas the LGR read:
12:07PST, 21.34C, 142.93Torr, 15.343usec, 1Hz, 1.889ppm Afterward calibration it was right on. I check the concentration is Franks new tank: 1.948ppm |
450 | 2011-11-18 | Lab none | Calibration | Lab none | Calibrated in the lab with god bottle 1.8978ppm CH4 at 180psi. Last calibration Aug 12, 2011. Before running the cal gas the LGR read:
10:33PST, 21.58C, 142.54Torr, 15.466usec, 1Hz, 1.866ppm I missed writing down the ppm with the cal gas before calibration but it was about 1.80ppm. Afterwards it was right on. |
449 | 2011-11-16 | Lab none | Maintenance | Lab none | In the field I pulled the internal filter in the LGR to use as the external 2um filter on the system with the new LGR that I swapped in. Runing in the lab with a loose, dirty filter internally dirtied the mirrors, but the ring time was already low to begin with. I swapped the internal 2um filter with a cleaned one. I checked a fitting in front of the pressure controller looking for another filter but found nothing. I pulled the pressure controller and discovered if you disassemble it you can clean some internal filters. This seems to have solved the flow problem. Then I cleaned the mirrors. The first cleaning seemed to work but when I used a high flow rate than began to get dirty. I may have to clean them again. |
448 | 2011-10-27 | Twitchell Rice | Removed | Lab none | I removed the LGR from Twitchell due to low pressure and almost no flow in low flow mode. I swapped in LGR sn 05-0010. |
1491 | 2011-08-12 | Twitchell Rice | Calibration | Twitchell Rice | The LGR pressure was really low 89.28 and in slow flow it was even lower. I checked the external 2um filter and it seemed clean. I checked the internal 2um filter and it was completely stopped up. I replaced it with a cleaned one. I blew the replacement filter clear with the cal tank but it still brought the ring time down after I got it all back together. The pressure was better and I had to close down the bypass valve to bring it in range.
9:00PST, 24.16C, 144.56Torr, 13.300usec, 10Hz, 1.831ppm The low flow pressure was still a bit low during calibration: 9:06PST, 24.05C, 125.31Torr, 13.302usec, 1Hz, 3.270ppm The calibration was almost right on with the 3.267ppm tank at 650psi. Last cal was July 1, 2011. The pressure fell to 111.7 by the end of the calibration. I also replace the 40um filter strainer. It was very dirty and had some spider parts in it. Before leaving the LGR read: 9:34PST, 24.55C, 144.81Torr, 13.291usec, 10Hz, 1.827ppm |
375 | 2011-06-10 | Lab none | Installed | Twitchell Rice | Installed at Twitchell to replace sn 05-0010 which was hanging up on boot. No problems during install. |
373 | 2011-06-06 | Lab none | Calibration | Lab none | Calibrated with the god bottle 1.8978ppm at 400psi.
Last calibration Dec 12, 2010 14:03PST, 18.95C, 143.22Torr, 16.043usec, 1Hz, 2.245ppm Post cal CH4 read 1.897ppm. |
360 | 2011-04-12 | Lab none | Repair | Lab none | The main power supply that was blown by a power surge on 2010/12/5 was replaced. The new power supply is
Mouser #: 784-HCC15-3-AG Mfr. #: HCC15-3-AG Desc.: Power One Linear & Switching Power Supplies +12- 12V, 3.4/3.4A All seems well - but needs to be calibrated |
264 | 2011-01-18 | Twitchell Rice | Removed | Lab none | Removed from Twitchell Island after suffering a power problem before Christmas. Initial symptom was blowing 15A fuse in power connector. Internally, a big capacitor and a diode are blown on the main power board. |
1487 | 2010-12-02 | Twitchell Rice | Calibration | Twitchell Rice | Pre cal:
7:43PST, 24.90C, 142.80Torr, 16.064usec, 1Hz, 2.660ppm - off by 616ppb a lot. Post cal CH4 was 3.263ppm And back in operation after adjusting the bypass valve because pressure was too high: 7:53PST, 23.33C, 143.96Torr, 16.089usec, 10Hz, 3.266ppm |
1486 | 2010-09-08 | Twitchell Rice | Calibration | Twitchell Rice | I adjusted the bypass valve. When Frank arrived we did a calibration. Last cal was done on Aug 6, 2010. The field tank is 3.276ppm CH4
Precal: 9:52PST, 25.54C, 111.2Torr, 16.112usec, 1Hz, 3.377ppm Low flow pressure seems low here too but I did not check the filters. Being 100ppb off seems a lot, last cal uses a standard closer to 1.8ppm though. Post cal CH4 read 3.276ppm. When we left the LGR read: 10:02PST, 25.49C, 144.34Torr, 16.080usec, 10Hz, 1.840ppm |
