Summary: Field water level low, standard field work, LGR calibrated, CR23x program changed.

Water level low
The rice heads are still very green
But will yellow soon

Arrived about 9:30am PDT with Jaclyn. It was cool and windy here to with mostly cloudy skies. The sun was peeking through now and then. The rice has headed but looks somewhat thin and Jaclyn says many feel like blanks. The water level has dropped a lot.

I was going to install the agitator for the DO sensor, but the water has dropped so far that the DO sensor was completely out of the water (reading 29mV). I removed it from the stake and placed on its side in the remaining water (reading dropped to about 7mV). I did not install the agitator.

Water level in well look a little lower than field level.

The LGR was okay:
9:08PST, 25.05C, 135.34Torr, 16.102usec, 10Hz, 1.911ppm

I adjusted the bypass valve. When Frank arrived we did a calibration. Last cal was done on Aug 6, 2010. The field tank is 3.276ppm CH4
Precal: 9:52PST, 25.54C, 111.2Torr, 16.112usec, 1Hz, 3.377ppm

Low flow pressure seems low here too but I did not check the filters. Being 100ppb off seems a lot, last cal uses a standard closer to 1.8ppm though. Post cal CH4 read 3.276ppm.

When we left the LGR read:
10:02PST, 25.49C, 144.34Torr, 16.080usec, 10Hz, 1.840ppm

I changed the CR23X program to not use the “if time is” function for output. . (Problem of Vaira tipping bucket traced to totalize function not working inside “if time is” function.)

I cut grass around the box, copied data and swapped cards, and cleaned the radiometers.

The LI7700 data looked okay. The RSSI was about 40% but after I cleaned the mirrors it was about 86%. It doesn’t look like much of the automatic washing fluid is getting used.

About 1.6GB left on laptop. I need to clear out some of the archived data next few visits.
