8/25/2009 Arrived about 8:30 am with Ben and Oliver. Drove into field. Very light breeze decreasing, sunny, warming up. Removed scroll pump (Iwata ISP-500B sn SV1864 9604.5 hours minor rebuild at 1994.7 hours, May 2008). There was soot and metallic looking dust in both the inlet and outlet. Maybe have done real damage to this pump. Install new pump sn EN12426862 with 2591.9 hours on it. The manuals say that the pumps need service once a year or at about 8000 hrs. I’m looking for a local place to inspect/repair the pump I removed, if I can find one maybe I’ll have our pumps checked at around 7000 hrs next time. I installed new sliders for a shelf so that the LGR can slide in and out without needing its own rails, but my shelf was 1/4” too big. I will try to install the shelf next time. Installed the LGR #2. Running on new pump stats were: 1.892 ppm, 142.1 Torr, 23.4 C, 15.22 usec. Running cal gas (1.9754) in slow mode before cal, LGR reported 1.990 (last calibration on 8-6-2009). After calibration LGR reported 1.975 I noticed Soil temp 2 at 8cm was not reporting. I found that the AM25T was full of earwigs and there were several loose thermocouple wires, but fixing these did not solve the problem. Probably a break in the thermocouple wire down the line somewhere. I can try splicing in a new wire at a later date. |
