Research

We started a new field study over a newly restored wetland on Sherman Island. It is across Mayberry Slough from our current drained peatland site. The new site is off the grid and with the acquistion of a new open-path methane sensor we will be able to measure the suite of greenhouse gas fluxes with a system powered by solar panels. This is a unique opportunity to study the transition of degraded peatland back to a natural wetland, as well as participate in work that is helping to reverse subsidence of soils on the Delta.
