Author: Cove Sturtevant
Others: Joe, Sara

Summary: Reinstalled field sensors, including radiation boom and water pressure sensor from DWR Corn. Camera was knocked down and might be broken. 7700 reservoir empty, adjusted settings. Downloaded data, took spectral. 7550 clock behind an hour.

We arrived at approximately 10:00 PST. It was cloudy, breezy, and cold.

The field was bare and has been reflooded so we reinstalled all the field sensors. The radiation sensors were swung back out over the field. We also put in the water pressure sensor from the corn site (sn 20010770). The top of the pvc tube is 33 cm above the surface, the water was 18 cm above the surface, and the pressure read 1.36 psi. It needs new desiccant.

A hawk or some other force had knocked down the camera box. The camera was in bad shape so Joe brought it back to the lab. Beetles have chewed up some insulation inside the big box, and there was a GIANT black widow spider in the top left corner just inside the door. It's still there - beware.

Current 7500 readings:
CO2 = 408 ppm
H2O = 630 mmol m-3
P = 101.98 kPa
agc = 43.8

7700 readings:
CH4 = 3.3 ppm (2.35 ppm after cleaning)
RSSI = 0.9 (bumped to 67 after cleaning)

We cleaned the instruments. The battery power was low (along with the solar power due to the low clouds). The 7700 reservoir was empty, but we could only fill it to 50% since we had also filled the reservoir at West Pond. We switched the 7700 settings to turn the heaters and washer on only from 4pm to 6 am (from all day) and reduced the spray to 10 seconds instead of 20. I thought I had corrected the 7550 clock last time but apparently I hadn't saved the settings. The clock was an hour behind and we changed it from 9:14 to the correct time of 10:14 PST.

We downloaded the data and Sara did spectral (right, Sara?).

We picked up the two batteries and the charge controller from Dennis's truck for use at Sherman.
