Twitchell Rice: 2013-09-11 11:40:00 (DOY 254)

Others: Dennis, Sara, Eva

Summary: Standard fieldwork. Rice sooper droopy. All good.

Twitchell Rice
2013-09-11

We arrived about 11:40 PDT. It was partly cloudy, breezy, and cool (19 C). The soil continues to dry out and the rice is super droopy with seed, about 65 cm high. I attended to the tower while Sara did spectral measurements and Dennis and Eva did clip plots. There may be a lower rice yield this year, Eva harvested quite a bit in her boots.

7500 readings:
CO2 = 390 ppm (395 after cleaning)
H2O = 690 mmol m-3 (675 after cleaning)
signal strength = 85.7% (86.9% after cleaning)
t = 22.7 C
p = 101.9 kPa
sos = 346.6 m s-1

7700 readings:
CH4 = 1.87 ppm (same after cleaning)
RSSI = 36% (73% after cleaning)
Reservoir was full.

MET data looked good.
Cleaned radiation instruments.
