Summary: Standard site visit. Lots of cottony material in 7500 path. Otherwise, all well.
| Mayberry 2013-09-11 We arrived about 10:30 PDT. It was partly cloudy, breezy, and cool. Sara and Eva went out and grabbed water samples and cleaned the tule tower instruments while Dennis and I attended to the tower and downloaded data. The site remains lush, although there are sprinklings of senesced tules in some of the new growth this year. Sara reported that the water level was high again this time. 7500 readings: CO2: 400 ppm and quite variable (395 and stable after cleaning) H2O: 700 mmol m-3 and quite variable (730 and stable after cleaning) signal strength = 70-90% variable (97.0% after cleaning) t: 21.2 C p = 101.6 kPa sos = 345.1 m s-1 There was a lot of fluttering cottony material stuck in spider webs directly within the path near the top window. Current 7700 readings: CH4 = 1.95 ppm (after cleaning) RSSI = 73 (after cleaning) The reservoir was full. MET looked good. |
