DWR Corn: 2012-09-27 13:30:00 (DOY 271)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Sara, Cove, Laurie

Summary: Collected data, spectral measurements, biomass

DWR Corn
2012-09-27

I arrived about 1:30pm PDT with Cove, Laurie and Sara. It was clear, sunny and hot with a bit of a breeze. The wind would rustle in the dry corn stalks. I’d estimate the corn is about 50% dry.

There are lots of wasps around the tower, but no evidence of a nest. I counted about 50 wasps in a photo I took. There were some wasps in the data logger box. We need to bring some putty next time to plug the wire contuits.

Laurie and Sara did spectral measurements and Cove collected biomass samples.

I downloaded all the data. The system read:
CO2 = 15.8, H2O = 740, Diag = 248, SOS = 347.

The solar panels need cleaning.

The tipper inside the rain gage needs cleaning – maybe a stiff brush to clean out the debris.

I folded in the radiation boom and cleaned the radiation sensors.
