Summary: Field being mowed, regular data collection/cleaning
2024-09-26 Bouldin Alfalfa Carlos and I arrived at 13:10 PST. There was a pick-up truck and trailer blocking our usual exit from Hwy-12E, so I directed Carlos to continue driving across the bridge to loop back around and get on Hwy-12W. We took our usual exit and drove along the levee road under the bridge to get all the way to our alfalfa field. It was warm, sunny, and breezy. A tractor was in the middle of mowing our field. They already mowed the edges, so we were able to drive right up to the tower without getting in anybody’s way. Carlos trimmed the alfalfa under the tower. The canopy was pretty sparse. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and FD data. I changed the eddy clock +1:15min from 13:24:30 to 13:25:45 and restarted logging. I cleaned flux and rad sensors and cleaned some detritus out of the rain bucket. There was the lower half of a dead mouse on the boardwalk. Carlos took spectral measurements in the mowed section of the field and he said file 35 is the first good file. I think the upward-facing measurements were maxing out before filed 35. I cleaned the solar panels. I looked briefly for the zPAR sensor but didn’t find it. I’ll look for it again next time when it’s been raked and baled. The 7500 read: 410ppm CO2, 740mmol/m3 H2O, 28.4C, 101.0kPa, 95SS - 99 after cleaning We left at 13:40 PST. |
