Summary: Field recently mowed, standard fieldwork, CR1000 program update - needs another fix next time.

Ngoc and I arrived at about 13:50PDT. It was overcast and hot but the cool breeze kept it reasonable. It was hot enough that Ngoc took a break in the car with the A/C on.

The field looks like it has been mowed in the past few days but not raked yet. We trimmed the alfalfa around the tower and PL arable. No veg height because of the recent mowing.

The undercanopy PAR sensor was under an alfalfa pile. I cleared it off, but I'm not sure how long it will last since the alfalfa piles will get shuffled around during raking and baling. I'll need to check again on my next visit.

We did the standard data collection: USB, met, flux, camera, FD and IRT data. Ngoc cleaned the flux and radiation sensors. I changed the eddy clock +50sec from 12:59:00 to 12:59:50 to match the laptop time and restarted logging.

The 7500 read: 418ppm CO2, 642mmol/m3 H2O, 28.1C, 101.0kPa, 98SS – 98.5 after cleaning

I updated the CR1000 program adding stdev AirT and Avg ea for the reverse Bowen ratio calculations. I did not add Avg q and stdev q. The q calculations use pressure but for sites that don’t have pressure on the met CR1000 Avg/Stdev of q need to be saved without the pressure. Then the pressure term can be added in post processing. I will update the program again next time.

There were ants and ant eggs in the met box, especially around the ethernet switch. I left them some mothballs.

We left at 14:45 PDT.
