Bouldin Alfalfa: 2023-05-31 17:10:00 (DOY 151)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Carlos, Jerry
Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, spectral data weird, alfalfa tall and green
2023-05-31 Bouldin Alfalfa Carlos, Jerry Sun, and I arrived at 17:10 PDT. It's been a cool spring so it was a relatively pleasant day, clear, and breezy. Jerry is an undergrad student exploring ideas for his senior thesis and today was his first time in the field. The alfalfa is tall, green, and ready to be mowed. Carlos trimmed a bit of the alfalfa by the tower but we decided to finish it next time since the day was getting late. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, FD, and IRT data. I changed the eddy clock +1min to match the laptop time and restarted logging. Jerry cleaned flux and rad sensors. Carlos took spectral and veg height measurements. The spectral measurements have weird “up” data where the measurements are railed in the middle of the spectrum. I’m not sure if it’s a bad “reference” or something else, like the sensor not being held level. The 7500 read: 395ppm CO2, 687mmol/m3 H2O, 24.7C, 100.8kPa, 93SS--99 after cleaning We left at 17:30 PDT. |
