Summary: Permanent: Regular data collection/cleaning, still no water under tower, changed eddy clock +2min, lots of spiderwebs and cattail fluff Temporary: Regular data collection/cleaning, installed Raspberry Pi camera, still a lot of wasps
2020-10-22 Sherman Wetland I arrived at 15:30 PDT. It was a sunny, windy, and dusty day. There were blue skies above but sufficient haze at the horizons so that you could barely see Mt. Diablo. The RioVista AirNow station had a yellow AQI (Moderate). There is still no water under the tower. The staff gauge read -17cm (aka the water level was 17cm below the bottom of the staff gauge). The wash reservoir was ¾ full; I refilled it. I downloaded met, camera, and USB GHG data. I changed the eddy clock from 14:50 to 14:52 to sync it with the laptop time, and then reset the box. There was a USB error, so I swapped USB. There was still a USB error, so I rebooted the instrument using the 7550 software. The USB was logging after that and the eddy clock matched the laptop clock. I cleaned flux and met sensors and the phenocam window—lots of cattail fluff and spider webs. I carefully cleaned off the spider webs and cattail fluff from the globe thermometers and downloaded its data. LI-7500 readings: CO2 401ppm H2O 268ppm T 28.2C P 100.9kPa SS 98--> 102 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 1.9 ppm RSSI 20--> 81 after cleaning I left at 16:00 PDT. 2020-10-22 Sherman Wetland Temporary Tower I arrived around 16:10 PDT. It was a sunny, windy, and dusty day. There were blue skies above but sufficient haze at the horizons so that you could barely see Mt. Diablo. The RioVista AirNow station had a yellow AQI (Moderate). There were again many wasps in the met box, but they were sleepier than 2 weeks ago, and the breeze prevented them from flying anywhere too fast. I put a new Raspberry Pi camera up, sn RPI0W-004. The one I removed last week had something broken with the computer-camera connection. I put the new camera up on the same mount. The wash reservoir was 4/5 full; I refilled it. I downloaded met and USB GHG data. I think the eddy clock looked ok. I cleaned flux and met sensors—lots of cattail fluff and spider webs. LI-7500 readings: CO2 400pm H2O 376ppm T 26.0C P 101.2kPa SS 95--> 99 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 2.0ppm RSSI 30--> 67 after cleaning I left at 16:50 PDT. |
