Bouldin Alfalfa: 2020-10-22 09:45:00 (DOY 296)
Author: Daphne Szutu

Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, field has been mowed and is starting to grow back, installed pluggable 24V power strip
2020-10-22 Bouldin Alfalfa Joe and I arrived at 9:45 PDT. It was a sunny, windy, and dusty day. There were blue skies above but sufficient haze at the horizons to cover Mt. Diablo. The field has been mowed, raked, and baled since our last visit. The field is already looking green and the plants are about 10cm tall. We trimmed the alfalfa under the tower and the radiometer, but left the alfalfa under the 2 Arable posts. Joe put in a pluggable 24V power strip, including a plug for the 24V coming in from the batteries. Since the 24V-12V converter was a dinky one, he swapped it with the 24V-5V converter that was previously powering the ethernet switch. Now, the 24V-12V converter is the larger one and the 24V-5V converter is the smaller one. I downloaded met, camera, and USB GHG. I downloaded the FD data and cleared its memory. The eddy and phenocam clocks looked ok. I cleaned the flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was 4/5 full; I refilled it. Joe cleaned the solar panels and took spectral measurements. LI-7500 readings: CO2 398ppm H2O 302ppm T 21.1C P 101.1kPa SS 102--> 110 after cleaning--> reset to 100 LI7700 readings: CH4 2.04 ppm RSSI 23-->80 after cleaning We left at 10:45 PDT. Joe went to join Siyan at Tonzi/Vaira, and I went to service Twitchell and Sherman sites. |
