Summary: Tested tipping bucket, soil co2 gradient system down due to dead batteries - FD chamber running, fixed bad reading from Vaisala pressure sensor, Phenocam clock 20min ahead - fixed.

I arrived at about 11:45. Siyan was already there just finishing up and heading to Tonzi. I came by way of Bouldin Island where there was a strong north breeze but here there is a strong west breeze. No rain yet and the trees are hanging on to a few green leaves.

I tested the tipping bucket getting 104 out of 100 tips â€“ good enough.

I collected the data and cleaned the radiometers. The soil CO2 system was acting oddly and missing data. I saw that the battery voltage was low and checked the solar system. The charge controllerâ€™s idiot lights were showing the batteries depleted at midday. I disconnected the batteries and isolated them. All four have voltages of around 6-8V â€“ dead. The forced diffusion chamber is still running on the main solar system â€“ I collected and clear the chamberâ€™s memory. We need to discuss whether it is worthwhile revamping the soil co2 gradient system.

The 7500 read: 431.2ppm CO2, 334.2mmol/m3 H2O, 99.1kPa, 30.3C, 103.6SS

The Vaisala pressure sensors has been reading low (~95kPa). I reset its connector and pulled on its wires. A yellow wire broke off at the multiplexor. I fixed the wire connection and the reading seemed better ~99kPa.

The clock on the phenocam was about 20min ahead. I changed it from 12:09PST to 11:49PST

Siyan had collected the pond data, soil moisture and well measurement.

I left at about 12:30.
