Summary: Reset Tram, Reinstalled LI800, reinstall SHF plate, serviced z-cams, swapped fence battery, set clocks on CR1000s, tower winflux hung up.

I arrived about 11am PST with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and warm with a slight breeze from the southwest. The ground surface is dry but there is some mud in the lowest road ruts. Grass is sprouting to about 5cm but looks a little stressed. The trees still have more green leaves than I expected - I’d guess about 10%. Leaves fell relatively freely when the wind blew.

When we arrived the tram was stopped due to a derail. I reset it and filed down some rough spots on the rails. Most places where the ends of two rails meet they were slightly misaligned. Next time I think I need to try to realign the rails a bit.

I reinstalled the LI800 in the tower co2 profile system. The data logger needs a new battery – its clock was lost and had to be reset. After resetting the clock I had to reload the program to get it run. Finally it calibrated well.

We reinstalled SHF plate sn 000139. It was placed just south of the stand holding the HMP45 near another SHF plate. Siyan wants to keep the new plate litter-free to compare to the older plate. Both plates are near the south edge of the canopy and should get nearly full sunlight except for the shadow from the tower.

I serviced the z-cams.

The clocks on the CR1000s were two hours ahead. Just after 12:00 PST I reset the Tower CR1000 from 2pm to 12pm. Just after 12:30 PST I reset the Floor CR1000 from 2:30pm to 12:30pm.

Winflux on the Tower computer got hung up and collected no data. Luckily, the CR1000 should have a full set of data.

I worked on the soil CO2 CR10X near Jessica’s tree testing the programing for the relays on the Vaisala sensors. I did not have time to install the relays and still need to test getting the CR23X and CR10X synchronized in turning on and reading the sensors at the same time.

I swapped the fence charger battery at the tower fence. It has been dead in the early mornings the last few times out.

I cleaned the radiation sensors.
