Summary: Standard fieldwork, cut grass, field flooded since June 16th, met Michael Marshall.

2011-06-21 I arrived about 9:15 with Jose. It was clear, sunny, hot with almost no wind. There was just a breath of wind from the north visible from the spider weds streaming off the equipment. The field is flooded and looks pretty good. The rice may be about 20cm tall. All was well. I collected data. The LGR read: 8:15PST, 27.85C, 148.14Torr, 16.074usec, 10Hz, 2.190ppm The box was a little hot and I need to get an AC unit. Also CH4 climbed to 2.4ppm before we left for Sherman. I cut the grass around the box and tower. The DO was reading very low and I had Jose cut it loose from the well. It looked clean and we laid it on its side in the water. Probably need to stake it up next time. The water level was 13cm from the top of the well pipe. Radiation sensors and rain bucket were clean. I wiped a bunch of spider webs from the sonic and LI7500. On the way out we met Michael Mitchell. Then we left the malfunctioning HMP45 for Frank to see if he can get it fixed. Jose did the LI2000, spectrums, clip plots and digital photos. |
