Summary: ATT modem not working - removed, moved shadow band diffuse PAR, reinstalled CO2 profile pump - system still not running, reinstalled relay for Open soil CO2 profile.

I arrived about 11am with Siyan and Robert Grant. It was clear, sunny and warm with a nice breeze from the west. Everything is very green and there are lots of flowers. The road and ground surface is dry. Tonziâ€™s pond is full but has receded a little.

The ATT Beam modem was reporting 19.7MB used out of 10MB and did not seem to let the computer connect to the internet. Windows was reporting no data used since the first of the month. I put a USB extension cable on the modem and moved it up about three meters above the ground. This seemed to have no effect on the signal strength â€“ still one or two bars. I brought the modem in for more testing.

Only a few phenocam images were collected. I discovered that the settings in the camera were not saved and when the camera was turned off for the night the changes were lost. To make changes permanent you have to do an extra step of issuing a â€˜config saveâ€™ command. I did this after fixing the settings again.

I moved the rotating shadow band diffuse PAR from the vertical pipe that Ameriflux will use to the horizontal pipe the pulley is mounted on. There was some water inside the box but no damage to the motor or wiring. Need to think about sealing it better. I also lowered the incoming PRI sensor about 15cm.

I cleaned the radiometers. There was some condensation in the pyranometer â€“ change desiccant next time. The NR-Lite mount is loose â€“ either fix or remove.

The HMP45 fan at the top of the tower has a broken wire but otherwise seemed okay. I discovered this at the end and didnâ€™t have another climb up the tower in me to fix it.

I replaced the relay for the Open soil CO2 profile. It was working, but could use longer wires.

I reinstalled the old pump for the co2 profile system. The system was running but the port for solenoid four was stuck on and yet the solenoid was not opening. I need to run through that program and figure out how the add the pressure from the LI-820 and the Forerunner CO2 sensors. I left the pump installed but turned everything off.

The electric fence near the tower gate is broken. I fixed it so it doesnâ€™t short out but it needs more work.
