I arrived about 2:30PDT with Sara, Carina and Cristina. It was clear, sunny and hot with little to no wind. The rice still looks poor and overgrown with weeds.

We originally got there about noontime but there was a crop dusted working the fields to the west, so we decided to do the other Twitchell sites first. When we returned the crop duster was gone. There was a sticky film over all of our equipment which probably got sprayed by the crop duster earlier in the day. Jim stopped by a little later and said it was an herbicide. We wore the waders in the field and washed up after we finished.

I collected all the data.

The 7700’s RSSI was 22. It looked like the mirror had been auto washed as the edges were clean but the center was still sticky. It was difficult to get the oily film off the mirror. After several cleanings I got the RSSI up to 69.

I cleaned the 7500, the sonic transducers, the pyranometer, the autocam window and the solar panels. Sara rotated the radiation boom and cleaned the PAR and net radiometer.

I help Jim hitch up the generator to be towed out of the field. We can get it back if we want to run an LGR here later.
