Hill Slough: 2023-12-22 16:50:00 (DOY 356)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Arman
Summary: Installed new HYDROS21 water level and salinity, standard data collection.
Hill Slough 2023-12-22 Arman and I arrived at about 16:50 just as the sun was setting. It was clear and cool with almost no wind. The tide was low. The staff gauge read 3.88ft at 16:55. We installed a new HYDROS21 water level and salinity probe sn H21G200002433 at the channel. This was replacing the old one so nothing to do but wire it in the correct channels and hang it in the water. The numbers looked okay on the 23x screen. It read 315mm at 16:55. The cable is still not quite straight from being coiled so it might end up a tad bit lower. At the tower I collected the flux, met, and camera data. Arman cleaned the eddy sensors and the radiometers. The 7500 read: 440.5ppm CO2, 586.2mmol/m3 H2O, 14.6C, 101.5kPa, 102.8SS The 7700 read: 2.16ppm CH4, 46 RSSI – 83 after cleaning The wash reservoir was almost empty – refilled. I collected pore water for salinity from the sipper. The water level was too low to get surface water. Original, uncompensated conductivity data: Porewater, 7.3mS, 13.9C, uncompensated Daphne calculated temperature-compensated conductivities using the EC300A's default temperature coefficient of 1.91%. Porewater, 9.2mS, 13.9C We left at 17:15 |
