Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, swapped 7500 for calibration, calibrated 7700, upgraded 7550 firmware, looked for Camilo's wallet but didn't see it
| 2021-05-26 Sherman Wetland Dennis, Robert, and I arrived at 15:00 PDT. It was sunny, breezy, and mostly clear. We looked around on the levee road, by the hotspot, and by the gate for Camilo’s wallet that he lost the previous day, but unfortunately didn’t see anything. The pelican carcass from 2 weeks ago was nowhere to be seen—I wondered what had dragged it off. The intercomparison sonic was tilted when we arrived at the site, and all the nuts on the 3 bolts were missing. Either we forgot to attach the nuts last time, or all the nuts had wiggled loose in the past 2 weeks for the sonic shifting around in the wind. Dennis added new nuts and we’ll leave the intercomparison running for another 2 weeks. I collected met, camera, and USB GHG data. Robert cleaned flux and rad sensors. The wash reservoir was mostly full; we topped it off. We calibrated LI-7700 sn TG1-0424 with 2 AMP tanks. The Zero cal gas was a baby tank of N2 that Sebastien B. had dropped off to us in the lab this morning. The Span cal gas is also an AMP tank with CH4 concentration of 4.223 ppm. The zero and span offsets were ok. After the calibration, we reattached the 7700 spray nozzle. We also swapped the LI-7500 for calibration: sn 0035 came off and sn 0041 went on the tower. I uploaded a new configuration file, updated the pressure coefficients, and reset the box. I upgraded the 7550 sn AIU-1569 firmware from 8.5.0 to 8.8.32. After the upgrade, I checked that the GHG columns looked good, the clock was correct, and the USB was logging. LI-7500 readings (sn 0035 --> sn 0041 --> sn 0041 with upgraded 7550 firmware): CO2 402ppm --> 426 --> 420 H2O 625ppm --> 512 --> 554 T 27.8C --> 27.2 --> 27.1 P 101.5kPa --> 101.5 --> 101.5 SS 96--> 97 after cleaning --> 98 --> 98 LI7700 readings: CH4 2.0ppm RSSI 56--> 80 after cleaning We left around 15:55 PDT. Looking at the data back in the lab, afternoon photos are missing from 5/23 and 5/25. Maybe the card is getting old. |
