Arrived about 9am PDT. Clear, sunny, warm, little wind becoming stronger from the southwest towards midday. Tonzi’s pond is as full as I have ever seen it, almost up to the road. Ground is wet, saturated in the low spots. Grass growing well and flowers beginning. Trees still mostly without leaves, a few are sprouting leaves especially near the tops.

The tram was running and seems to have collected complete data since Siyan put in back in operation. Now changes to the tram.

I installed a KZ NR-Lite and two PAR (up and down) sensors on a post in the open area south of the floor solar panels. I also installed a NR-Lite and HMP45 under the canopy south of the tram line. The CR10x is in a Campbell box at the base of a tree and power is run from the solar panels. The CR10x seemed to be working well, but when I went to download the final storage data it dump and bunch of garbage and crashed with an error before completing. I’ll have to setup another data logger for the next visitor to swap in.

I checked the water level in the floor solar batteries. All but two seemed good. The last two batteries on the northwest corner took a lot of water to top off. These may be older batteries that should be removed from the string. The wooden base is beginning to rot and needs to be replaced

I restarted the CO2 profile system on the tower. Calibrating with a 418.8ppm CO2 tank and N2 tank. Zero was off –15.5ppm and span was off ~5ppm high. A spare pump is inside the box with the IRGA on the tower.

I swapped the z-cam cards and test the z-cams with the new cards. Cleaned the windows but were mostly clear of spots.

Soil CO2 running, open 16cm probes was lower than other open probes. Tree 16cm probe was above 1% maxed out.

Tower radiometers looked clean.

Tower tipping rain bucket needs cleaning – a lot of bird poop on the top but I don’t think it is blocked.

Met Kevin Tu on the way out. Went to Vaira to hang a NDVI/PRI radiometer on the radiation boom between our LED sensor and the end. Kevin returned to Tonzi to remove abandoned site to the west of our tower. He said he would leave the fence posts and boardwalks near our tower fence for our reuse.
