Summary: Replaced boardwalk wood, moved met sensors to new pluggable strip, 7700 clock sync error, low water level
2020-03-11 East End Joe and I arrived at 10:15 PDT. It was a sunny and mild day with patchy high thin clouds, a light breeze, and lots of birds. The water level was 19.5 cm. The eosGP sensor had been sitting in muck and railed high over the past week, so I raised it out of the water to test. The reading decreased down to ~3000 mV when I checked after about 30 min, so I lowered it down, trying to get it in a shallow puddle of water rather than in muck. The top of the conductivity sensor was visible, so Joe lowered it just below the surface. Joe replaced the wood on the bottom boardwalk and then went to West Pond to adjust the power cable. I downloaded the met, USB GHG, and camera data. I removed power from the datalogger box and moved the met sensors to a new pluggable power strip. I re-started the camera. I checked that the 7700 was connected and that the GHG clocks looked ok and synched. Then I checked that the GHG columns looked good, but when I closed the Setup tab, a 7700 clock sync error began. I reset the box, which resolved the problem. Back in the lab, there were issues with the GHG files. The 7700 data were present, but the headers were not. In addition, it looks like there was a time sync error because every 10-15 fast measurements, there would be 2-3 measurements where all the 7700 data would be -9999. I think we had this problem with the box software v 8.75. Maybe we need to upgrade the 7700 firmware, since a new one (1.0.29) is now available, even though the change log didn’t list any major changes. LI-7500 readings: CO2 430ppm H2O 450ppm T 20.4C P 101.7kPa SS 96 LI7700 readings: CH4 2.0ppm RSSI 54 Joe came back from West Pond around 11:45 PDT to pick me up. We drove to BA, but a crop duster was spraying the alfalfa fields, so we skipped the site, turned around, and went to Mayberry. |
