Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, water level very low, zcam post askew, LAI-2200, many wasps + ants
2019-07-10 West Pond Camilo, Dennis, and I arrived at 13:40. It was a sunny and breezy day with clear skies (some cirrus clouds). The plants are looking green, but the wetland is even drier than before; the water level was 1 cm (at least 20 cm below muck level). Bryan said Steve would harvest his peat by July 2nd, so we need to check with him if we can turn the inlet on again. The wash reservoir was 4/5 full; we refilled it. This was our first visit in 3 weeks and nature had come to reclaim some territory: There was a good-sized wasps’ nest (the size of my palm) under the upper boardwalk (Dennis sprayed it and knocked it away right before we left), and there were MANY ants and ant eggs in the datalogger box (we left them some mothballs). I downloaded met, camera, USB GHG, and zcam data. I also took a few LAI-2200C measurements by the zcam. I took 15 “B†measurements; 5 replicates each of 3 positions right by the zcam. I then took a few “A†measurements from the top of the tower. The picam post was not level, so I righted it, but next time I need to reinforce it against with the boardwalk post with another large hose clamp. LI-7500 readings: CO2 398ppm H2O 747ppm T 28.1C P 101.7kPa SS 95--> 97 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 1.85ppm RSSI 57--> 75 after cleaning We left at 14:50. |
