Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, downloaded miniDOT, water level up under the tower, knocked down 2 wasps' nest
2019-07-25 West Pond Dennis, our visitor Josep Penuelas, Alex, and I arrived at 15:30. It was sunny and warm. There were 2 wasps’ nests, one under each boardwalk; Dennis got stung on his hand. The water level has come up under the tower; the water level was 31 cm. However, when driving along the southern edge of the wetland, you can still see the dry soil. The inlet was off. We passed a backhoe parked on the western edge of the wetland, probably Steve’s peat-removal project. I downloaded met, USB GHG, and miniDOT data. There were no photos on the camera card. The wash reservoir was mostly full; we topped it off. Alex cleaned flux and rad sensors. We swapped the miniDOT and water level sensor desiccants. I skipped the zcam photos because the fluxalot laptop battery is limited. LI-7500 readings: CO2 397ppm H2O 610ppm T 35.6C P 101.1kPa SS 95--> 96 after cleaning LI7700 readings: CH4 1.96ppm RSSI 67--> 73 after cleaning We left at 15:55. |
