2012-09-06 I arrived about 14:00 PDT with Cove. It was hot and sunny with a very light breeze form the west. The corn is pretty much done growing and turning brown. The cobs are mostly full and the hard, yellow kernels taste like chalk. Jaclyn and Laurie were here earlier but couldn’t connect to the data loggers due to a cabling problem. The eddy system read: 15.3mmool/m3 CO2, 535mmol/m3 H2O, 346m/s SOS, 248Diag Now that the corn is senescing and harvest is about two months off, the field work will be done less often and less comprehensively. |
