DWR Corn
2012-09-13

We arrived around 14:00 PDT. Hot, very mild breeze. The corn looks pretty dry. I checked the tower while Sara and Laurie did clip plots. No LAI or spectral this week since the leaves are nearly all brown and the spectral tripod attachment was missing.

There are lots of wasps around the tower, but not as bad as Twitchell. I swapped the CR1000 card, downloaded the MET and pulled the pics off the autocam card.

Tower readings:
CO2: 15 mmol m-3
H2O: 670 mmol m-3
diag: 248
t = 36.7
All MET looked good.

I checked the tower Vaisala against the standard (THIS time keeping the probe out of the sun beforehand, mostly to avoid standing among the buzzing wasps for any longer than necessary). Thus, these readings are directly comparable. The tower Vaisala temperature read nearly right on the standard but the tower RH was a few percentage points low.
Standard: T = 32.5 C; RH =34%
Tower probe: T = 32.43 C; RH = 29.25%
