Summary: Cleaned CH4 sensor, refilled reservoir, kite photos, fixed ebullition chamber
| Arrived at Mayberry around 12:30pm, light winds from the west.
Data/instruments: RSSI on the LI-7700 sensor was low upon arrival (around 16). Cleaned out spider webs that had caught some insects in the path and RSSI was up to 48. Cleaned the mirrors with acetone and it went up to 81. Refilled the 7700 reservoir with DI, although it was still about 3/4 full. All other values looked good in the datalogger. Field measurements: Tried to collect gas samples from the ebullition chamber, but found a small leak in the chamber. Tightened the hose clamp and leak disappeared. Reconfigured the end of the chamber with a septum for easier needle sampling in the future. Will try to collect samples for analysis next week. Jose Luis took many kite photos, although the winds were not quite as strong as we'd hoped - there was some slack in the line. Before leaving the site we tried to move around to another spot on the levee for more kite photos, but winds had totally died by then. |
