Hill Slough: 2024-03-14 09:40:00 (DOY 74)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Arman
Summary: Super windy, mid tide, cleaned EXO, standard data collection
Hill Slough 2024-03-14 Arman and I arrived at 9:40 PDT. Happy Pi Day! It was supper clear and sunny but blowing like crazy from the north. It was mid-tide and ebbing. The staff gauge read 4.65ft at 8:53 PST. The water was wavy from the wind with about +-0.05ft slop. We pulled up the EXO for cleaning. There were some fish eggs inside the guard but the sensors looked clean. No shrimp – wrong time of year? I wiped it all clean and put it back in the water. The cable and chain holding the other sensors would bow in the wind. At the tower, Arman put the ladder against the boardwalk to climb down and get a gallon of water for school field trips next month. He also refilled the wash reservoir and cleaned all the sensors. I collected the met, flux and camera data. The 7500 read: 425.0ppm CO2, 191.3mmol/m3 H2O, 17.7C, 101.9kPa, 98.3SS The 7700 read: 2.0ppm CH4, 52.6RSSI – 77.8 after cleaning The wash reservoir was less than half full We measured Conductivity Pore water, 7.0mS, 13.6C Surface, 1941uS, 11.8C We left at 10:00 PDT |
