Bouldin Alfalfa: 2024-01-30 14:35:00 (DOY 30)
Author: Daphne Szutu
Others: Robert
Summary: Warm day, storms coming, short alfalfa, sheep on field to our east
2024-01-30 Bouldin Alfalfa Robert and I arrived at 14:35 PST. It was warm and mostly overcast, with clouds like fish scales (“mackerel sky”). A storm will come in tomorrow and another one Sunday into Monday. Forecasted winds for both events will be >10m/s (20+ mph). Same as at Bouldin Corn, we could hear a lot of ducks/geese in the distance. The alfalfa field to our east had sheep in the middle section. I again drove on the north side of the ditch and then crossed over to enter our field. No trouble getting in/out of the field. Our veg height is about 5cm all around. Robert started spectral, but we decided the light was changing too quickly for good measurements. I downloaded met, cam, USB GHG, and FD data. Robert cleaned flux and rad sensors. He also cleaned the phenocam window since I noticed a smudge in the middle of the photos downloaded last time. He didn’t see anything particularly dirty on the enclosure window though. The 7500 read: 479ppm CO2, 670mmol/m3 H2O, 20.7C, 101.3kPa, 98SS -- 98 after cleaning We left at 14:55 PST. |
