Summary: Regular data download/cleaning, RSB not turning--fixed by swapping motor
2023-05-31 East End Carlos, Jerry Sun, and I arrived at 15:05 PDT after spending two hours at West Pond fixing its power. It's been a cool spring so it was a pleasant day, mild, clear, and breezy. Jerry is an undergrad student exploring ideas for his senior thesis and today was his first time in the field. The wetland is continuing to green up and the staff gauge read 37.5cm. I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. I changed the eddy clock -2min to match the laptop time from 14:29 to 14:27 and restarted logging. (I wrote 15:29--> 15:27 in my notes, but that would be in PDT and it should be in PST. I need to double check the 7550 clock next time.) I had trouble connecting with the Licor software because it didn't show up automatically in the drop-down menu--I don't know if it's my USB port, the ethernet-USB dongle, or the Licor software. Seemed to work a little better when I tried the USB port on the righthand side of my laptop. Jerry cleaned flux and rad sensors. We topped off the reservoir. The rotating shadow band had stopped spinning again so I swapped out the motor. The set screw might need to be tightened with an allen wrench next time. The 7500 read: 417ppm CO2, 543mmol/m3 H2O, 25.1C, 100.9kPa, 99SS – 101 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.03ppm CH4, 24RSSI -- 79 after cleaning We left at 15:30 PDT. |
