Summary: Swapped 7500s, check on COSMOS, Global water date ok, Tower Top SDI-12 locked up - restarted, broke field laptop screen, standard field work.

I arrived at 12:00 noon. It was clear, sunny and mild with a light breeze from the southwest. There was some rain about two weeks ago but not very much and the ground surface is still dry but no longer crispy. Almost no grass sprouting here. Soil moisture is variable both in space and depth. A few trees have some leaves but mostly brown and lots of leaves on the ground.

I swapped 7500s but lost the screen shots with the before and after measurements. CO2 was about 430ppm and H2O was about 290mmol/m3 both before and after. I updated pressure coefficients and restarted the 7550 boxes. At the Tower sn 0041 came off and sn 75H-2180 went on. At the Floor sn 0042 came off and sn 0035 went on.

The data loggers all seemed fine. The IRT CR1000 had lost radio contact again. I reworked the wire holding the antenna at the data logger so that it should remain vertical. Restarting the CR1000 restored the radio link and updated the data on the Tower computer. The Tower Top CR1000 is missing data from a few half hours mainly in the afternoon. Might be caused by a loose connection from the recent power distribution upgrades. The SDI-12 connections were also locked up. I restarted the CR1000 and the SDI-12 coms were restored. I cleaned the radiometers but they werenâ€™t very dirty.

While doing the manual well measurements I dropped a well cap on the field computer bag with the laptop in it. It didnâ€™t seem much of a blow but half of the screen is damaged and unusable. This computer is 10 years old and still running XP â€“ amazing that it has lasted as long as it has. I was able to finish the other data collections with half a screen.

I collected and cleared the FD chambers and did the DBH measurements. I did the Moisture Point measurements too. I serviced the z-cams.

I checked on the COSMOS probe â€“ it seemed to have power. I copied the files from its SD card (not much change from last time as far as I could see) and restarted its data logger.

The Global Water logger in the Road well is still high and dry but it is running and has the correct date time. Its power pack was 3/4 green.
