Tonzi: 2006-12-26 11:30:00 (DOY 360)
Author: Siyan Ma
Others:

When: Date: 12/26/2006 , Day: 360 , Watch Time: 11:30am .
Where: Tonzi/Vaira Ranch
Who: Siyan
Weather: cloudy, windy
Phenology: grass germination, 3-4cm tall in Varia, 1-3cm tall in Tonzi. Oak leaves have fallen off. Grass didn’t change very much since last visit.
Summary
  1. Power problem on Floor site!!! Screen showed “VGA NO INPUT SIGNAL”. Looks like there’s no enough power to run the screen. So, I disconnected Screen and Keyboard with the PC to save power. I also opened CD drive to save more power. PC was reset up after disconnections.
  2. Soil CO2 profile: something wrong with sensors on the open site!!! Readings were all zero.
  3. Check and download data at Tower and Varia. EC systems worked well.
  4. Measured groundwater, dendrometer, and spectrometer. Dendrometers need reset because some have been out of range!!!

Groundwater: roadside 36.97 ft; tower 32.45 ft; understory 27.16 ft. Groundwater raised ~0.5ft compared with the measurements on Dec. 6, 2006.
Vaira_Grass Site
  1. Fence and gate power: >12 v.
  2. Panel and Batteries: 12.4 v; 1.9 amps; 3.2 amps.
  3. Reading from Gillsonic screen before downloading data. (The value of H2O and CO2 should be in the range of 0 – 5 v.)
