Bouldin Corn

We arrived at 10:55. It was sunny and clear with a light breeze. It was hazy near the horizon and warm. The gate from the highway (by the overpass) was locked. None of the usual combinations worked. Dan from O.C. Jones called contacts on our behalf, but none knew the new combo.

Kyle and Elke took veg height measurements and clip plot biomass samples.

I took LAI measurements. I set up one wand on a tripod as the above/reference measurement, and used the other wand to take scattering data ("BC0823SC") and LAI data with 10 above and 10 below measurements("BC0823") walking N in the field from the tower. I computed the data on the console and LAI~3.4.

I collected met, camera, and Licor GHG data. I upgraded the 7550 interface sn AIU-1570 from v8.0.0 to v8.7.5. I confirmed the 7550 time, time zone, sonic analog settings, and CO2 and CH4 logging config.

I cleaned the rad and EC sensors.

LI7500 readings:

CO2 402.2 --> 403.5 umol/mol
H2O 762.8 --> 767.7 mmol/m3
T 26.3 --> 26.7 C
P 100.9 --> 100.9 kPa
SS 99.3 --> 100.2 after cleaning

LI7700 readings:
CH4: 1.82 --> 1.96 after cleaning
RSSI: 7.2 -> 71.6 after cleaning

The 7700 wash was not working when we arrived. I tried to manually pump water, and the pump started up for 1s before turning off again. I disconnected the power cable and water hose from the wash box; some of the water leaked out. I reconnected the power cable, and tried to manually pump water. Again, the pump started up and a small squirt of water came out of the water hose connection before the pump turned off. I manually cleaned the 7700 before I re-attached the water hose, re-started the 7700 software, and then magically the manual water pump and mirror spin worked again. I confirmed the advanced cleaning settings.

We left at 11:45.
