Twitchell Rice: 2014-09-18 12:00:00 (DOY 261)
Author: Joe Verfaillie
Others: Patty

Summary: Standard fieldwork and data collection, auto camera adjusted.

Twitchell Rice
2014-09-18

I arrived about 12 noon with Patty. It was clear, warm and sunny with a little breeze from the west. The rice is still yellowing. I didn’t see any black birds here, but Patty saw a bunch at West Pond.

I downloaded the data.
The 7500 read: 383ppm CO2, 834mmol/m3 H2O, 101.5kPa, 27.7C, 92.8SS
The 7700 read: 1.88ppm CH4, 39RSSI – 72 after cleaning.

The LAI-2000 didn’t work. It wouldn’t turn on so Patty swapped the batteries. Then it turned on for a few minutes before going dead again. Maybe both sets of batteries are bad.

Patty did spectral and veg height.

The auto camera doesn’t look like it has lost power since the battery upgrade. However, when I was adjusting its view and tightening the mount bolts it seemed to lose power once like there is a loose connection. But, I might have just bumped the power button.

Veg Height (cm): Tape measure from ground to top of plant
70, 67, 65, 67, 66, 66, 67, 65, 67, 67, 64, 67, 64, 62, 70, 70, 70, 75, 63, 64, avg = 66.8, stdev = 3.05
