I arrived about 11:00am with Patty. It was mostly clear, sunny and warm. A breeze was picking up from the north shifting to the west. No evidence of the rain seen in the Bay Area and at Sherman. The field has been baled and mostly cleared of bales â€“ the plants are still very short. They are still working on fields to the east and south.

CO2 profile A was disturbed. The 2cm probe was knocked down with the TC chewed and broken. The 8cm CO2 cable and TC were also chewed through. The teeth marks looked sharp like a rodent or fox. I pulled the cables and probe for the 8cm measurement. Patty reinstalled the 2cm probe. Collar 1 for the 6400 measurements was also missing.

I ran a power wire from the soilco2 10X power connector to the radiation 10x. I ran the wire off the ground a chest height to avoid more chewing.

Patty did soil respiration with the 6400. The 6400 got unplugged part way through so there are two files.

I downloaded data.
The 7500 read: 382ppm CO2, 806mmol/m3 H2O, 101.0kPa, 26.13C, 80.6SS

I checked the sonic cable. It was run in a way that got it stepped on when people clean the sensors. The connector looked okay. I gave it some more slack and added a cable tie.

Some of the thermocouple wires are peeking out of the ground and need to be reburied before they mow the field again.
