I arrived about 10am with Siyan. It was clear, sunny and warm. A light breeze from the south east shifted to the west. The trees here still have leaves but many are brown. Tonzis pond is almost dry.

I tested the tipping bucket by letting 16oz (473ml) of water drip through. It recorded 22.608mm about 11 tips short. Somehow I did the math wrong and only turned the screws a half turn (2 to 3 tips). I need to turn the screws another two turns next time out.

I swapped the Floor NL511 card reader. Sn 6761 went on and sn 9774 came off. I also reorganized the Floors PSU box swapping the metal back plane for a wood one. The sonic and CR100 were down a short bit. During the reorganizing the solder joint on the TX line from the CR1000 to the sonic broke doesnt affect the data.

The tram had derailed trying to drive off the end of the track. I reset it and it moved to park okay, but then didnt run. The battery was okay, but the program was reporting only 10V. I tried to collect data but the data was corrupt. I tried to resend the program but had trouble with that. I reloaded the OS and then the program but there were several versions and I didnt remember which was current. I think V5 is current. The program seemed to run okay but the motors didnt go when the port was set high. We brought the tram in for testing.

I checked the level of the radiometers at the tower top by taping the level to them and putting the arm back in its extended position. They were mostly close to level. I adjusted the BF5 diffuse sensor and the 4channel. The 4channel might need some more work in the north-south direction.

We serviced the z-cams. Last time out z-cam 2 had an acorn in one of its screw holes. This time there was another acorn in a hole. The chance of two acorns falling in the holes is vanishingly small. I bet a woodpecker is stuffing acorns in the holes. I push a piece of fence wire into the acorns to remove them from the holes.

The Moisture Point loggers battery was low and it stopped working. I need to check the connections inside.

Siyan did the standard fieldwork.
