Summary: Standard fieldwork, Joe tested tipping buckets and leveled radiometers, Tram came in for repair, partial Moisture point due to dead battery.

Weather: clear, sunny
Phenology: oak trees at Vaira still look green, while oak leaves are quite brown and fallen. The biomass fence was moved, and the TDR probes still in the fence. Mr. Tonziâ€™s pond has little water (see pictures below).

Summary

Checked and downloaded data from PC at Tower, Floor.
Joe downloaded data at Vaira and swapped memory cards of CR1000s at three sites. Everything worked well.
Joe leveled the radiation sensors and calibrated rain gauges at Tonzi and Vaira.
Calibrated CO2 profile system; Zero drifted -5 ppm.
The Tram cart wasnâ€™t functioning well and taken back to the lab.
Read dendrometers
Measured soil moisture (didnâ€™t finish because the battery was dead.)

Vaira_Grass Site

Fence and gate power: 12 v.

Joe downloaded data and swapped the memory cards of CR1000.

Check the fans of air temp and relative humidity sensors at Vaira. YES!
Check levels of Radiation sensors, clear up surfaces.YES!
Joe calibrated rain gauge. Pretty good.
Joe re-leveled radiation sensors.
Closed gate and set up fence. YES!

Tonzi_Tower Site

Reading from Gillsonic screen before downloading data. (The value of H₂O and CO₂ should be in the range of 0 â€“ 5 v.)
