Summary: Cut up old scaffolding, Reinstalled miniCH4, pulled weeds.
Mayberry 2025-03-26 I arrived at about 12:20. It was partly cloudy with a cool wind. The main levees have been mowed since I was here last and there are goats on the south side of Mayberry slough. Looks like a bunch of heavy machine work on the power lines to the east – maybe new towers. The wetland is mostly brown but new tules and cattails are peeking though. I started trying the hand hack saw on the old scaffolding. It worked better than the battery powered skill saw. In about 30min I had one frame cut up into straight pieces. I took a break and did the other things before cutting up the second frame just before leaving. I left all the metal there for recycling another time. At the tower I reinstalled minCH4 sn 38-576-25. I was reading continuously so I could see that it was working before I put in the water. I cable tied it to the northeast scaffolding foot again – hopefully better than previously. Then I set it to timed reading and set the start time about 20min in the future. While I installed the miniCH4 I notice the cable for the water level was inside the clamp for the floating boom. I don’t think the cable was damaged or pinched but I opened the clamp, got the cable out and refastened the clamp. I pulled the weeds out around the solar panels here too and put some moth balls in the solar charger box. I left at about 14:00 PDT |
