Summary: Removed open water CO2 probe for maintenance. Tower height only ~1 m above veg, might want to raise tower.

We arrived about 09:45 PDT. It was sunny, cool and windy. The site looks the same, very green with a bit of standing old plant material mixed throughout.

I attended to the tower and took some extra instrument orientation measurements. Sara and Yanel went out and took water samples. They removed the open water CO2 probe, as it was railed at 5000 mV.

Instrument orientations:
Height to middle of sonic: 3.1 m from ground, additional ~60 cm to water
Sonic orientation (+x direction): 327 N (magnetic)
Laterally from mid-sonic to mid-7500: 36 cm @ 57 N (magnetic)
Laterally from mid-sonic to mid-7700: 27 cm @ 95 N (magnetic)

I checked the sonic model, it is a WM 1590. Therefore, no crosswind correction is needed (it is done internally). I will remove the correction from the processing. I did a quick check on the effect of removing this correction from West Pond data. The effect was minimal, so I dont think we should be too concerned about past data.

The vegetation height was about 2.1 high above from the ground. This means that the tower height is only about 1 m above the vegetation. We should think about raising the tower. This would be pretty simple, we would just need a longer pole (current one is 1 7/8 OD, ~85 cm long). I shall scavenge the lab for one.

7500 readings:
CO2: 384 ppm (same after cleaning)
H2O: 624 mmol m-3 (same after cleaning)
signal strength = 96.3% (96.7% after cleaning)
p = 101.4 kPa
t: 18.8 C
sos = 343.6 m s-1

Current 7700 readings:
CH4 = 2.0 ppm ramping above 2.5 ppm (same after cleaning)
RSSI = 36 (88 after cleaning)
Topped of reservoir (was full).

MET looked good.
Cleaned solar panels.
