Summary: Radiation 10x required restart. Some modification to new LED and new instrument pole bracket required for install next week.
| Twitchell Alfalfa 2013-07-16 We arrived at 13:00 PDT. It was sunny, cool (20 C), and windy. The alfalfa is growing strong and partially flowery. Yanel measured the average vegetation height to be ~60 cm. The radiation 10x was not working when I arrived. I cycled the power and it restarted. I wanted to swap out the LED sensor with a new one from the lab. The readings from the current one looked fine but the data are showing dropouts. However, the new one I brought from the lab needs a longer cable to interface with the 10x. I will prepare for next week. We also brought a new metal bracket to swap out the wooden one. However, the u-bolts on the new one were not long enough and the inner diameter could be smaller. The instrument pole is 1 5/8 OD. 7500 readings: CO2 = 382 ppm (390 after cleaning) H2O = 600 mmol m-3 (580 after cleaning) SS = 91.8% (93.4% after cleaning) T = 21.6 C p = 101.4 kPa sos = 346.4 m s-1 MET looked good. |
