Summary: Regular data collection/cleaning, shadowband had fallen off--fixed
2023-11-20 East End Carlos, Ngoc, and I arrived at 14:55 PST. We passed two USGS folk by the pump station who looked like they were taking water quality sensors. It was clear, mild, and sunny. We had a rainstorm two days ago but no major rain forecast for the next 10 days. There was lots of poop on the boardwalk, with all different shapes—pellets, piles, and logs. The staff gauge read 57cm. Ngoc refilled the wash reservoir. Carlos cleaned flux and rad sensors. LWin and PARin were pretty dirty, and the sonic had a lot of spiderwebs. He also swapped in a new 7500 bird spike because the old spike was worn and bent. I downloaded met, cam, and USB GHG data. The shadowband had fallen off of the motor axle and we were missing about a week of dfPAR data. Carlos saw the band in the wetland, luckily within reach from the tower. He put the band back on; I checked the data after a few minutes and it looked reasonable. I changed the eddy clock +40sec around 15:00 PST to match the laptop time and restarted logging. I checked the HMP fan and confirmed it was working. The 7500 read: 423ppm CO2, 428mmol/m3 H2O, 18.1C, 102.2kPa, 95SS – 100 after cleaning The 7700 read: 2.1ppm CH4, 46RSSI – 85 after cleaning We left at 15:10 PST. |
